Kuwait - Leaving the country with pets

by Kuwait Authors last modified 2007-02-02 05:43

It is essential to arrange for the transportation of your pet well in advance of your departure date to avoid your pet being left behind when you travel. Airlines restrict the number of live animals that may be transported at any one time.

A health certificate, issued by the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs & Fish Resources, is required before any pet is permitted to leave Kuwait. The health certificate, which is valid for a period of seven days, can take up to a week to procure. To apply you will need to complete an application form and provide a copy of your pet’s vaccination certificate together with a copy of your passport. You will also be required to produce an import permit for the country to which the pet is being sent.

Use one of the freight companies or the International Veterinary Clinic to arrange shipment of your pet out of Kuwait (see Pet’s paperwork)
