Kuwait City - Health system

by Kuwait Authors last modified 2007-02-02 05:43
Kuwait has a wealth of healthcare facilities. Both public and private facilities are regulated by the Ministry of Public Health.

Basic healthcare is available in government clinics located in community centres which are invariably situated next to the local co-operative supermarket within an area. Referrals are made from these clinics to specialists. Kuwait has a very high standard of public healthcare and some of the most comprehensively-equipped facilities in the region. Every resident expatriate has the right to access to public healthcare.

Private healthcare is excellent and comes at a price; however, those attending the private facilities are invariably covered by private health insurance.
