The Ahmadi Music Group (Adults only) holds annual Spring and Christmas
concerts, often in the Al-Hashemi Ballroom at the SAS Hotel. Concerts cover
a wide range of music and are joined by overseas accompanists/soloists.
Rehearsals are held weekly on Mondays; 7:00pm at the New English School's
(NES) Mousetrap Theatre.

The American Womens League is open to US citizens and ladies married to US
citizens. Meetings are held during the last week of every month and include
a buffet dinner and a guest speaker and/or presentation. A special
Newcomersevening is held during the first period of every month. Membership
is KD45 per year which covers the 9 monthly meetings and entitles members to
various discounts and first priority for functions. The AWL hosts an annual
Christmas bazaar which is open to non-members. Tables cost KD20 (members),
KD30 (non-members) and KD50 (commercial). The AWL is heavily involved with
EMAD (Education Makes A Difference), a group which is working on collecting
educational material for schools throughout Iraq.

ANZAK is not run by committee. It is a social group that meets on a regular
basis and organises annual events including Australia Day, Waitangi day and
ANZAC day. As neither Australia nor New Zealand have embassies in Kuwait the
points of contact for ANZAK probe invaluable when consular queries are
required.

The British Business Forum (BBF) is a non-profit making association of
British business people in Kuwait which aims to foster British interests and
win more business for the United Kingdom. Working closely with the British
Embassy, the Forum provides an opportunity for the British business
community to meet on a regular basis, supports the creation of business
networks, facilitates discussions with business people and VIPs visiting
Kuwait, and liaises with overseas trade agencies in the United Kingdom. A
meeting with a guest speaker and refreshments is held at a top Kuwait Hotel
at 7:30pm on the evening of the second Monday of each month. Members may
bring their partners to these meetings and other social events.

The Kuwait Caledonian Society promotes Scottish cultural and social
activities in Kuwait. Annual formal functions include the Caledonian Ball,
St. Andrews Night and Robbie Burns Night when musicians from Scotland are
flown to Kuwait. Less formal functions include the disco and Ceilidh.
Bagpipe and dancing lessons are available. The society raises money for
charities in both Kuwait and Scotland.

The Kuwait Irish Society promotes Irish cultural and social activities in
Kuwait. The main event on the annual social calendar is the St. Patricks Day
Ceilidh. Irish plays are presented annually and music and dancing lessons

The Kuwait Singers are a non-profit, non-audition choir who present a number
of concerts throughout the year. They are always looking for new members
aged 16 and over. Rehearsals are held every Saturday at 7:30pm at the Gulf
English School.

The Kuwait Textile Arts Association (under the auspices of Sadu House) is a
non-profit organisation which aims to bring together individuals interested
in textiles and the fibre arts including appliqué, embroidery, knotting
carpets, quilting, silk painting and weaving. Members include a number of
talented decorative artists who hold classes throughout the year. Meetings
are generally held on the 3rd Saturday of every month, and include a
lecture. Membership is KD10.
